For years, we have used BT or "Bywater Time" to denote a standard most folk have come to know and understand so they can math around it for their own time.
Some folk (especially new ones) get confused by this, so we are going to try something that perhaps will be a bit more intuitive to folks. There were also some complaint letters written to the Mayor claiming favoritism of the West Farthings and Bywater as well. (Of course, Miss Telle even held a letter writing tea for such matters.)
ST or "Shire Time" is the new standard time term we will begin using. This way no one can complain we're favoriting any Farthing or town over another as well. If someone tries to complain that it's favoritism towards Small Folk, or the Shire in general, jes tell 'em it really stands fer "Standard Time", and we jes' call it Shire Time since we live in the Shire so it's easier fer us t' recall. *chuckles*
Hopefully, in time this will catch on, and we'll have less explainin' t' do t' those not of the Shire.
Any presently used documentation, such as the Slug-Squashers' Pocket Guide, will be updated when time allows so that we have consistency in our present documentation. We will not be editing our Historical Documents.
If ya have any queries about this, please feel free t' ask. If ya have any complaints, please forward them t' the Mayor. I've got enuff paperwerks t' deal with still.
